“Finally Yours”: FLO Release “Recently Deleted”

Triple threat, and in the literal sense triple “AAA” superstar girl group, FLO return with the addition of four new singles. “Recently Deleted” is leads the releases, and is described as a confident glow up. The trio has been an unstoppable force in British music since their major debut “The Lead”, which saw an iconic 10” vinyl release back in 2022. Miss Demeanour helped the girls secure another hit with “Fly Girl” which dominated the summer of 2023. In 2024 we received “Access All Areas”, now “Unlocked”, boasting a monumental 25 tracks – a virtually no skip album. 

“Do Too Much”, “Say Less”, and “Conceited” were originally released as bonus tracks on each exclusive CD on FLO’s web store – but if you’re streaming, the tracks have been compiled into a full album, with the full 25 featured from the “AAA” release era. 

Following, being the first girl group to achieve a Grammy nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album, the group dropped “Recently Deleted” – based around a messy phone history. The track hits hard with the classic “FLO” style we have become accustomed to.

Nigerian Hitmaker CKay release’s “Body” ft. Mavo

CKay has crafted “Body”, his latest single accompanied by newcomer Mavo, on a foundation of Afro-House, alongside the “four-on-the-floor” drum beat. The two have created a darker, but warmer feeling and sounding track, featuring rock tones that spark against Lagos rhythm. This track is absolutely made for the dancefloor, a great closer for CKay’s discography for the year. It has an implemented vibe of “ the night”, and the energy of celebration, and it will most definitely inform the Summer of 2026, in terms of sound. 

This is definitely a whole new creative chapter for CKay, especially with the blend of Afro-House and gritier, emo-rock standards; really stretching the styles of modern African pop. A true innovator and artist.

The track is built on the four-on-four drumbeat, and features bass lines, and live guitar to present a warm vibe, and to produce both groove and attitude. “Body” was produced by BMH (Bolatito Obisanya), Fez, Vishen, and Astro. “Body”, including the feeling of live elements, still feels polished – a classic identity that CKay has been building over the last decade. 

Mavo, a newcomer, just 21 years old, is an artist who merges street rhythm with emotional honesty. He adds a whole dimension of his own to the track – he truly is the representation of Nigeria’s next generation.

Sam Quealy announces new album “Jawbreaker”

In the late 2010’s Sam Quealy left Australia for Paris, starting off working as a showgirl, but quickly falling into the world of music. Described as a lifelong love. Today the techno-popstar has announced her new sophomore album “Jawbreaker”. Ultimately the result of the LP release, solidifies Sam Quealy as a shapeshifting visionary. You won’t see Quealy do the same thing twice, visually/sonically. 

The album announcement also arrives alongside the second single release from the project – “Love Lasso” with accompanying video.

Quealy commented on the track, describing the themes of an ominous romanticism being present, “a toxic love that you keep coming back to even if it’s bad for you.”

Her debut “Blonde Venus” was a huge success, garnering widespread critical acclaim; she also later toured internationally with Yelle and La Femme. Whilst this album is a departure from “Blonde Venus”, with a new wave of lavish sound, live instrumentation, companied by themes of lust longing and self-celebration.

After moving from Australia to Paris, working as a showgirl at a cabaret, Quealy soon picked up music. 

“At first I was mostly experimenting with writing lyrics, but during Covid I picked up guitar, learned piano, learned how to use Ableton,” 

“It felt like I was able to take everything I loved—music, dance, performance art, fashion—and pour it all into one medium where there’s no rules or limits on what you can create.”

After release “After EP 2” featuring new single “Outbound”

After have released new single “Outbound”  in collaboration with Photographic Memory and Alex Craig, with writing from Austin Getz of dream-pop group Turnover! The tracks sees inspirations drawn from Michelle Branch and the lyrics of Fountains of Wayne. 

The track is all about showing up for somebody you love – even when they push you away. “Outbound” alongside “Deep Diving” – the two lead singles from this release, truly set the tone for their second 2025 EP following on from their debut “After EP”, “After EP 2 – EP”, which dropped on 17th October 2025. 

Graham Epstein and Justine Dorsey formed After, *after* meeting on Hinge in LA, after they realised they’d be better as a band than as a couple. They were also born on the same day! Talk about fate.

Theo Bleak shares new single “Said Like A Poet”

Introduction

Last Friday, Scottish singer-songwriter Theo Bleak dropped her second single, and visualiser from her next EP, “Bad Luck Is Two Yellow Flowers”, “Said Like A Poet”. This follows on from Bleak’s last (demo) EP, “Heaven.Wav”, which, quite hard to believe, was released just under year ago. In between these EP’s we saw an incredible collaboration between Theo and The Twilight Sad with “Don’t Borrow Grief For Later”, followed by her first 7″ vinyl release via Assai Records, with the AA side single, “In My House / Like A Thorn”. 

Since 2022, Theo has been constant with her music, embarking on contrasting, unique and highly personal, styles and creative directions with each. This track is no different. Written with returning collaborators, Mark Johnston, Megan McNally, Dan Gautreau and with art by, Kit Martin and photography from Joy, this release highlights a new and fresh visual presentation of Theo’s story.

The New Track

Coupled with “Peach Sky”, the track is another dive into a feeling of emotion, longing, a dreamlike state. Accompanied by a style of songwriting and lyrics, that could only be Theo Bleak. Nobody does it like Katie, that is what we have come to learn on this journey of music. 

While Theo Bleak could be described as a thought, or an idea, an artistic direction, the ideas could not be more real and present. And this is very much clear in the EP so far.

The EP releases on Apple Music on May 15th, with a vinyl release set for the 16th, with pre-orders available now. Don’t miss there special Assai Obi Edition of the EP, with an exclusive Obi Strip hand-signed by Theo Bleak, limited to only 100 copies, on transparent pink vinyl.
